Please help me decide where to move - Ridgewood or Montclair (NJ)! I'm so confused and we're house hunting in both towns. TIA! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Ridgewood, Ridgewood, Ridgewood! I went to Mtc public schools and it was awful!!! I live in a different state now.... The schools are diverse but totally dangerous at the middle school and HS level - fights all the time!! I graduated 15 years ago, but I have hear it has only gotten worse! I know a lot of people who live there. The only physical fights I ever really saw up close were in the the cafeteria, gym, locker room... The PS system is fine for your young kids, but not for middle school and high school. My 3 other sibs would tell you the same thing and many friends! [ Reply | More

Ridgewood is a nice, preppy town. High taxes but a lot of good services. Nice downtown with cute shops. Schools are highly rated.. Not a lot of diversity if that's what you're looking for, though. [ Reply | More
