My mother smoked while she was pregnant for me and for my whole childhood. I'm perfectly healthy. I'm not saying it's a good thing, but it's not like she's shooting crack. Her baby will likely be fine. [ Reply | More

lol - so do you drive around with out a car seat too? please. everyone knows that cigs are totally different and contain more chemicals than the did 30 years ago. ALSO, there is undisputed evidence that it is linked to sids, miscarrage, low birth rate, mental retardation and a whole host of other issues. not to mention the pregnancy complications. it is like shotting crack now. the children have poor learning and health. there is over 2500 poisons in each one. Cigarettes contain more chemicals than they did 30 years ago? I've never heard this. Like OP, my mother smoked while pregnant with me and my sisters. I wish she hadn't. I don't and didn't. But the friend has to know that it's not a good idea. [ Reply | More

smoking when pregnant isn't the worst thing in the world. not good (small weight risk) b ut it isn't like she is gonna necessarily have a messed up baby. and she knows it is a huge taboo. just stay out of it unless she brings it up [ Reply | More
