I had a miscarriage a few weeks ago and still haven't had my period again. I'm curious, for those Moms who had one as well (and I'm really really sorry if you have), how long was it until you conceived again? I'm so anxious - I know I'm putting way too much pressure on myself... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I had a miscarriage in Jan 2008, my period returned in about 4 weeks. I found out I was pregnant again at the end of March. Take the time you need and good luck! [ Reply | More ]

I am so sorry for your loss. It will take about 4-6 weeks after the bleeding stops. With my natural m/c I conceived 3 cycles after. With the D&C one, it was 2 cycles after. Now I am pregnant with a healthy db, finally! [ Reply | More ]

Thanks for this! I actually have gone through a really rough patch - took Cytotec and have been bleeding for 4 weeks straight, just insane. At this point we don't want to go the D&C route since my hormone levels have (finally) dropped, so hopefully it will be done soon. Thanks again and congratulations! [ Reply | More ]

I had a miscarriage and got pregnant 6 weeks later without ever getting my period. It was pretty traumatic for me, though. I really wanted the pregnancy that didn't take and after the miscarriage, I decided I didn't want any more kids. The first 6 months of the pregnancy were really hard on me emotionally and I'm not that way generally. I've never been depressed before that in my life. I think my hormones took a LONG time to settle. [ Reply | More ]

I'm so sorry it was so tough - and I can relate since I'm also fairly stable emotionally (ha) but this period has been really rough. I had a miscarriage before having my ds and for some reason this one has been much more difficult. I hope you're doing OK. [ Reply | More ]

I hope you're ok too. I am fine now. Before I had the miscarriage, I had no idea how hard it was to recover from. The experience sure enlightened me. It's also tough having a miscarriage when you already have a child. You know exactly what you're missing and the unrealized expectations can be really rough. If you are pregnant, just be prepared for a little ambiguity about the pregnancy and know that it will pass. It did for me and now my daughter is a happy healthy 14 mo. GOOD LUCK!! [ Reply | More ]

I don't know why I'm not able to reply to your post below, but just wanted to wish you good luck too and thanks again. I think you're absolutely right - I thought that having a miscarriage now that I already have a child would be "easier" given that I don't have to worry about not ever having a child, but in fact it's been the opposite. And I think it's precisely as you said - you know what you're missing and somehow I started to imagine a person much sooner than last time. Anyway, all the best to you and your babies!
