Posted this morning with little reply. Hoping evening will get better response: Part time sitter (1/2 day four days a week). Do I pay holidays or for a vacation? I was thinking of the following. Her week is flexible so for the days of a holiday...she can have the holiday off but work the other four days. For vacation, I was thinking of 2 weeks paid...one of my chosing (when we have off) one of hers. Also, paid time off from Xmas to New years. Fair??? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

if she typically works M-Th and the holiday falls on a Monday, it's not cool to ask her to work T-Th without additional compensation. your vacation plan sounds fine, but you need to pay for holidays that fall during her regular schedule. the exception to this kind of thing is when you take time off with notice and want to work with her ahead of time to rearrange her schedule so you can have coverage when you are back. Thanks. Can the holidays only be the holidays I am off or are they all holidays...ie Columbus, Presidents...Veterans? (those little holidays that only banks observe?) [ Reply | More ]

Completely depends on your agreement with the nanny. [ Reply | More ]
