How do you get a 21 month to get used to sleeping in a bed? I got the rail guard, but every nap/bed time is crazy. Please tell me how you all did it. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

He won't stay in crib, climbs out so quickly. We were thinking of a cover for the crib. But eventually we will have to go through this. [ Reply | More

We moved ds at 17months and it took him a few weeks to get used to it. We made the bed as comfortable as poss with a padded mattress topper and we kept the bedtime routine the same and calmly put ds back into bed every time he got out. He did spend a few nights sleeping in his chair in the beginning. [ Reply | More

Took a few weeks, meaning every time putting him back. I am trying to not make it a game, saying nothing when I put him back so he doesn't get a response. He thinks it's hysterical. [ Reply | More

We tried really hard not to react to him at all but to put him back into bed and encourage him to stay there by reading his story to him while he was in the bed. We put a gate on the door to his bedroom and left a few books with him so that if he did get up he could entertain himself until he decided to go back to bed. [ Reply | More
