how hard is it, really, to find a good, responsible, reliable, caring nanny for an infant in NYC, who will accept $600 per week, WITHOUT using an agency? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

we pay our Nanny 575 and she is really good - however she does not have her citizenship papers in order which has become our problem. Our Nanny is from the Philippines - she is a college graduate and in her 50's. I found her by asking one of the other nannies in our building - they are cousins. [ Reply | More

I think that $500-$600 for a nanny for 1 newborn is something you can find for up to 50 hours. Certainly there are those who charge more, especially if you prefer someone with 20 years experience. I prefer a younger nanny so not as hard to come by. [ Reply | More
