how hard is it, really, to find a good, responsible, reliable, caring nanny for an infant in NYC, who will accept $600 per week, WITHOUT using an agency? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

It's not impossible... try to find someone who is letting her nanny go b/c kids are too old or moving out of the city, etc. [ Reply | More ]

we pay our Nanny 575 and she is really good - however she does not have her citizenship papers in order which has become our problem. Our Nanny is from the Philippines - she is a college graduate and in her 50's. I found her by asking one of the other nannies in our building - they are cousins. [ Reply | More ]

$575 for how many hours per day? I will need someone from 8:30 am - 6:30 pm, which is a 10-hr day. Is $575/$600 per week realistic? [ Reply | More ]

I think that $500-$600 for a nanny for 1 newborn is something you can find for up to 50 hours. Certainly there are those who charge more, especially if you prefer someone with 20 years experience. I prefer a younger nanny so not as hard to come by. [ Reply | More ]

Hi. Our friend recommended our babysitter. She's wonderful. We use her 3 full days and our friend uses her the other 2 days. In September, my daughter will be starting pre-school and our babysitter will be looking to work for a new family (4 or 5 days a week). If you are interested in hearing more about our babysitter, please contact me. [ Reply | More ]

I am looking for a new babysitter who can work on the books. I have a 9-month-old and 4-yr-old (who will mostly be at school). Days/times are somewhat flexible, but papers are not. Would she be 'eligible'? [ Reply | More ]
