just found out my co-op signed a contract to put cellular antennae and base equipment on our roof. anyone have experience with this and whether it is safe? i heard joel klein wanted to put them on public schools to raise $$ but public outcry foiled the plan. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

The latest research shows no link between these antennae and cancer, etc. But I don't know if I'd want to be a test case for it myself. [ Reply | More

that's not actually true. there is no conclusive research about the effects of 24/7 exposure in a residential setting. and, in other settings, it hasn't been conclusively proven either way -- there is evidence both ways and apparently cancer is not the only risk. there is research linking it to autism, ADD, behavioral disorders, sleep disorders, and of course cance.
