Anyone get laser vaginal surgery for a tear that healed incorrectly post partum? DB is 10mo & DH and I have not been able to have intercourse because of these issues. OB doesn't know how to handle me. She first said she would do a "snip" of external tissue & I schedule appt. AT the appt (DH was there too), she decided, all of a sudden, not to do the in office procedure and I'm getting really frustrated and DH is more so. I also feel like a worthless, unattractive, freak. np: If you go to a "rejuvenation" place, the surgeon is likely a plastic surgeon. I suggest you go to a urogynecologist instead. [ Reply | More ]

what is that? so confused. Most of the problem seems external. I only had a 2nd degree tear and I'm so angry at my OB. [ Reply | More ]

It's an OB/GYN that also specializes in urology. They see a lot of delivery injuries and do this surgery often (I had it done). [ Reply | More ]

TO THE Person who had this procedure done, UB won't let me reply to your reply. I need to know if it's possible to get everything fixed if I still might have another child or if I would be told to wait. My marriage is not doing well because of this physical problem. [ Reply | More ]

For something as small as a tear repair, you can fix it now. It is unlikely to tear there again for another delivery because there will be a small amount of scar tissue (nothing that you would probably notice, just there). What's good about seeing a urogynecologist, he/she can make sure there is no other damage you can't see. GL. [ Reply | More ]

Thank you so much. I am sure I have incontinence issues too, but that is not the only problem. Will the urogynecologist do a consultation first? There is a local Urogynecology place nearby I just found thanks to you. You might be saving my life. Thank you. [ Reply | More ]

The urogynecologist will do a consultation first, and perhaps some tests to check the strength of the muscles, your bladder, etc. (nothing painful, but peeing into this machine was a little embarrassing!). I know how upsetting this stuff is - so degrading, really painful, hard to talk about, affects your relationship with DH, etc. Chin up, there's help out there. [ Reply | More ]
