I am leaving db for 10 days and feel absolutely sick to my stomach about it. Any advice (other than hurrying home) on how to make this transition easier? Db will be with my mother. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

how old is db? old enought to talk on the phone? or can you skpe your mom so you can see her? it really will be ok--she will be with someone who loves her. i know it is hard, but try to enjoy the break a bit too. [ Reply | More

no, you aren't! you are leaving her in very good hands, and your dh needs you to be with him now. it is good that you have a safe, loving place where you can leave db for this. you will miss her a lot but she will be fine, and you will be with her again very soon. call your mom a lot to check in, it will be fine. I'm so sorry. We went through this last year. DH had malignant melanoma and was being treated near home, but DD spent a lot of time with her grandparents that summer. Call to check in, even if she can't talk to you, have your Mom put her on a speakerphone and you can talk to her. I hope everything goes well, but know that you are doing what's best for your family. wow, that is really rough- I hope it goes well for your dh. It will be really hard on you to leave your baby, but he won't really be able to tell how long you'll be gone, and your mom will take good care of him. Bring lots of pictures, especially to look at with your dh while in the hospital. Good luck! [ Reply | More
