Is there any place within 2 hrs. of NYC that's a great kid day escape? I'm looking for a Legoland type place for my 4 year old. Already did Crayola factory in PA... not interested in Sesame Place... any other ideas, lesser known? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Land of Make Believe in northwest NJ is very old-fashioned but I have loved it since childhood. [ Reply | More ]

^^Dutch Wonderland is adorable, but about 3 hours away. We stay at the Willow Valley Resort when we go - it has a huge indoor kiddie pool with slides, etc. [ Reply | More ]

nnp: Do you guys know whether they have suites? Hate staying in a regular hotel room on vacation. DH & I end up hiding in the bathroom until ds finally falls asleep and then giving up and going to bed at 10PM. Not much of a vacation. [ Reply | More ]

Looking for a getaway with an overnight stay as a preschool graduation present. DS is big on hotels with pools and free breakfast... we just need an attraction to head to. [ Reply | More ]

Fruit-picking up near Red Hook; easy drive staight up the Hudson. Wave Hill is a short trip and great on a nice day. There's also a water park near Catskill, NY that's cute. Jersey shore; it's northern section is an easy train ride. [ Reply | More ]
