I'm going through the same thing. She will be 3 on Tuesday, and loves to embarrass me! I totally ignore her and all the idiots who like to stare. [ Reply | More ]

try giving warnings when you are going to go through a transition. Also give her choices about what is going to happen. DO you want to walk or ride in the stroller when we leave in 5 minutes? If they feel they have control over the situation, even if small, it seems to help us a lot. Now can you help me with hitting? [ Reply | More ]

don't ignore... validate. for a child this age, NOW is all there is. try to see things from her perspective and come up with win-win solutions (and yes, this may be harder and take longer at times, but your relationship will be strengthened immeasurably)-- jmho [ Reply | More ]

mine has never had a tantrum... he also eats sushi and can twirl spaghetti on his fork, likes to discuss the Oped pieces in the Times, and is starting a book club for his peers... [ Reply | More ]
