if you are a sahm w/2 kids, no $$ of your own, dependant on dh, own house (dh bought w/his $). if facing divorce, how would this bode for the wife? is she totally screwed? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

If no prenup, I'm pretty sure she would get at least half of all the assets accumulated since they got married..so even if he bought the house, she would get 1/2 of the appreciation of it, plus half of all the money he's saved since marriage. This would be in addition to child support, alimony etc (but the alimony could be contingent upon her looking for work) [ Reply | More
