i do see her swallowing, but is frustrating because she also falls asleep after 5 minutes, and i have to rouse her and switch sides often. hard to tell how effective the sessions are [ Reply | More ]

OR here with baby that had jaundice. Mine was nursing like crazy on day 3 & 4. I was not producing enough milk. On day 5 we went to hospital and they gave her formula. She drank 4 oz. like she was starving - it broke my heart that I didn't realize she wasn't getting enough from me. Call dr. tomorrow. [ Reply | More ]

So it's been 12 hours? Call ped now. Dehydration in such a new baby is not something to screw around with. [ Reply | More ]

What do you think the ped is going to tell you? To give her gatorade? Just give her some formula NOW and you might save her being hooked up to an IV in the emergency room. Don't be daft. She's obviously dehydrated, whether or not you "see some pee" later tonight. I'm all for bf-ing, but I hate it when it becomes about all about mom. [ Reply | More ]
