Just joined our neighborhood pool. Went today at 4 w/kids, put stuff at a table. At around 5:30 started to crowd up for cookout night - ppl start putting their stuff all around our table. Guy comes up and says - "This is my table, don't you know- we always have this whole area on Friday nights...." all the women around -wives, etc. were like - its true, we always sit here. WTF????? yeah, it does suck when people get territorial like that. i belong to a pool club too, and there are always people who take over the tables on the patio. It just doesn't matter that much to me to stake my claim, so I sit in the not so nice area. [ Reply | More

they are the cool folks that get drunk in front of their kids at the local pool on Friday nights - and I am just a nobody b/c my kids don't go to the same school as theirs and my DH didn't go to their stupid Catholic high school w/them. It's absurd, really. [ Reply | More

like I said before, they are losers. their lives are very small. try not to let them ruin your pool club experience, it's a great place for kids to hang out and for you - access to a pool w/ none of the maintenance headaches. [ Reply | More

the swim club in my hood is full of uptight status seeking people. They "haze" the newcomers and the newcomers have to work the year they join (doing maintenance, serving, etc.) since they pride themselves on being a self managed club. It's all a bunch of horse hockey if you ask me. [ Reply | More
