My 10mo almost never responds to her name and avoids eye contact at all costs... cause for concern? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I know this is 'normal' for my 2yo but I don't remember him being like that at 10mo. [ Reply | More ]

call the ped. not saying that is not normal, just to alleviate your concerns. [ Reply | More ]

I think it's worth bringing to the attention of your ped. [ Reply | More ]

I would call Early Intervention - just to ask them what they think. It's free and you can often get really good advice over the phone. Peds often are totally clueless about developmental stuff. [ Reply | More ]

Yes, I would be concerned, particularly about the avoidance of eye contact. Have you had her hearing checked? [ Reply | More ]

Name part wouldn't concern me as much as the eye contact. [ Reply | More ]

It is probably not an issue, particularly since this is a girl you're talking about and they have a much lower incidence of autism, but bring it up with your pediatrician and/or a developmental specialist to ease your mind/ [ Reply | More ]
