Bank of America sent our $12,000 IRS check to the incorrect address. Now they won't take any responsibility. What happens if someone already cashed the check? I am on the phone with the IRS now. How can the bank take no responsibility? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I assume you were making a payment to the irs through online banking - was the address correct on your end? If so I don't see how they can't take responsibility for it. If you had the wrong address in there you may be screwed. [ Reply | More ]

B of A should be able to tell if someone cashed it- did they stop payment? This happened with our bank (not B of A) and they could tell that it had not been cashed (though it had gone through our account as an online bill pay) and they just stopped payment, no fee [ Reply | More ]
