This is so silly, but I sometimes google my ex, who dumped me 8 wks before our wedding. We both ended up getting married and I have 2 amazing kids (I don't think he does yet), but it really sticks in my craw that he seems to have married someone much more successful than I am. In terms of schools, career progression and even fitness. I'm not fat, but she's apparently athlete extraordinaire. Karma really didn't work out in this one and it bums me out a bit. It was awful. Really it was a case of cold feet and we got close to getting back together, but in the end we couldn't do it (long story, but we were in different cities at that point.) I had moved across the country, quit a terrific job, sold a home for him, etc. He was a real schmuck. Doesn't deserve to have found such a great woman. [ Reply | More

she may not be that great. what you are seeing is superficial. for all you know, he may beat her or vice versa. she may be v. successful but maybe they can't have children and fight because of the stress. be happy with what you've got and you may want to see a counselor to talk through this loss. I keep telling myself that, but she really looks like a superstar on paper. I keep hoping she's boring (which is one thing I feel pretty confident that I am not.) It just frustrates me that in the end, maybe he was right to break up with me. He took a gamble and won and it ticks me off.
