3yo ds has suddenly started throwing major tantrums over random things -- putting on his shoes; going into a car; etc. I mean, screaming, heaving, crying tantrums. I've been dealing with it like I did with others, but these are intense. just looking for some reassurance that this is totally normal. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Totally normal. Don't give in as your ds is testing his limits. He's trying to figure out if the rules are still the same. I've been trying to present a choice: You can wear your tennis shoes OR your flip flops...Then when it escalates I ask do you want to go to X or go to bed, because that crying tells me you are tired and need a nap. Doesn't always work, but it will get better. [ Reply | More ]
