OR: I think he doesn't have the experience or plan. I think his expressed international policies are naive and not well though-out. I don't like his stance on immigration. He seems to have charisma for certain people who don't seem to think "in-depth" about what he is saying. I don't like that he would give up his Church for twenty years because of political pressure. I don't like his unconvetnional upbringing, frankly.....single hippy mother, etc. about whom he speaks very little, I don't like that, until recently, he was smoker. I don't like that his fans have little to say in his defense except that those of us who don't like him are racists. [ Reply | More

i agree with you about the "border security" rhetoric. but i always felt his stance on immigration was more progressive than clinton's and most people's. he seemed always to cushion the more conservative points with acknowledging that the strict lines with immigration are linked to xenophobia and that we can't be so fearful. how would this relate to his policies? i don't know, and i do agree that it is all rather vague. but i still don't get the fear factor of him because of this issue, and immigration has always been a strong point with me. bush scared me too, but only during his re-election. i have always disliked him, but i just don't understand how you can justify being "scared" by someone on a conjecture of what he will do. it just seems like a needlessly extreme emotion. especially when it is based partially on the fact that he used to be a smoker. I thought Bush was even scarier the first time around: had only ever held part-time jobs, essentially handed to him by Daddy ....and the lost cocaine years.
