Two questions here. 1. If you are divorced/separated, do you feel like it has irrevocably affected your kids? 2. If my husband's take home pay is about 5x his income (ie mostly bonus-based) would child support be calculated based on salary or take home pay? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

1. my parents are divorced (since I was 7) and it irrevocably affected me, but not really in a bad way, and in retrospect I wouldn't have it any other way. 2. It depends, I suspect. My dh is a law partner, and when he got divorced, his child support and alimony was definitely based on his potential earnings, not on his minimum draw (NY). [ Reply | More ]
