If you don't get offered a spot at Anderson, but your friends do - will you truly be happy for them? For me - I will be happy for them, but I don't ever want to hear about their experiences and "what I am missing out"... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

eh, once you are settled in your school I bet you will start to feel vested and not care so much. [ Reply | More ]

Ugh...this is what I am afraid of. 3 dcs in dd's preK class (plus dd) have a 99 and all put Anderson first. I have this fear that all will get in but my dd and they will all commute together, have events together, etc. [ Reply | More ]

One of dd's classmates also got a 99 and I fear this. I will definitely be jealous and upset but I will get over it and be happy for her and happy for my dd too. But truly happy immediately? No. [ Reply | More ]

Be thankful that you have a bright and happy child. Stop with the constant comparisons to everyone else - did you go to the "best" preschool/kindergarten/elementary schools? Did you turn out just fine? Get over yourself. [ Reply | More ]

Yes; I will be happy for those kids. Their quality of life will likely improve jointly: their parents will be less freaked out and those kids will have a good school. Please, try to be happy with what you've got; it will totally [ Reply | More ]

rub off on your child and back onto you. You've obviously been advocating for your kid, so keep it up, good luck and have a good Summer- they're growing up really quick. [ Reply | More ]

Of course I will feel disappointed for my own dd's missed opportunity if we don't get in (and I'm not expecting to, since it's now just a game of chance). It's hard to separate out your own disappointment from your feelings about your friends' kids, which is totally secondary. I know that we'll get past the feeling of disappointment and will be happy with where we land, but it takes time too. [ Reply | More ]
