2.5 yo DD only wants to eat rice at lunch. She pushes away any vegetable or meat we serve, and says, only rice. Her older sister used to do this a bit too. Should I just go with it for a while and hope it will pass, and only serve her the rice, or should I take the food away if she pushes away the rest? (she gets a little aggressive, btw). Definitely continue to serve her other foods along side the rice - a protein like chicken or tofu, a vegetable... It's really important that you maintain the expectation that she eat those things, even while accepting that she won't. One day, hopefully, she'll come around. I sometimes give my 3yo a small plate and tell him anything he doesn't want he can put there. This seems to work well. [ Reply | More ]
