Does anyone like having sliding glass doors on their bath/shower? Other than slightly less water on the floor I see all negatives, but don't want to yank it out of the new house's bath without thinking it through. Thoughts? TIA [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i grew up with these and whenever i go to my parent's house i hate them. ESPECIALLY hate giving baths b/c you can't sit on the edge of the tub comfortably. i support ripping them out. PLUS i love shower curtains. love how easy and cheap it is to give your bathroom a lift simply by replacing the shower curtain. [ Reply | More ]

This is what I was thinking. This bath will mainly be used for young dcs and it just seems like such a pain to bathe one dc much less two, as we might have in a couple years. I also feel like they're always dirty, always a little pool of filmy water in the track... [ Reply | More ]

Friend in college slipped on wet floor, fell, and track for shower door got him right in the shin bone. Still makes me cringe to think about it. [ Reply | More ]

Funny, every time I mop up the spill from my two monkeys after bath time I wish I had those doors again... Just fold a towel in half and drape it over side and you can sit on edge of tub. The upstairs apt in our two family had one when we moved in. I took it out. It is really easy to do for those of you who hate yours. The only issue is the holes left in the wall and cleaning up the caulk. (A razor blade, a green scrubbie and some acetone. Done.) [ Reply | More ]

So you would have preferred keeping it? [ Reply | More ]

This is for the tenants. The old one was trashed. I think the bathroom looks better without it BUT I have a water stain in my BR ceiling because tenants' sister is too simple minded to operate a shower curtain.... I could argue either way. The newer generaion ones are much nicer though. And you can get them now without the track on the bottom! [ Reply | More ]
