Taking my 18 mo ds on airplane. He has his own seat and we are planning on brining his car seat for him to sit in. But the thing is huge..Britax Marathon. Is there something out there we can purchase to roll through airport? Should we buy/bring a smaller car seat? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

They make bags for them that you can carry like a back pack if you put it in. If you are going to buy a new one, and travel alot consider the sit and stroll (try used first). Terrific for air travel [ Reply | More

Don't waste money on a smaller one for this one trip. The car seat is a mixed bag... My dd wouldn't go in the seat and then I had no seat (and she wasn't strapped in for turbulance anyway) and then it wouldn't fit on the Australian Quantas planes. They have wheels you can put it on - maybe it's called go go kart/ go-go kidz? Do a google search. [ Reply | More

When ds was that age, we traveled with our marathon everywhere. We used a little cart, attaching it to the seat with a bungee cord, which made it easier to wheel in the airport. Now, there's a special cart/wheels attachment you can buy that works specifically with the Britax carseats. You can find it online in a number of places. It's a little pricey, but looks like it works well. ds would never sit still in the plane seat, if it weren't for the carseat. [ Reply | More

At 18mos I'd skip the carseat. We took marathon on last trip, DS was 13mos and big, he just kicked the seat in front of him. It was awful. I'd never do it again. [ Reply | More
