We did the toilet seat top with a stool. Worked wonders. DS will even go on regular toilets outside of the home now! [ Reply | More ]

we used both. sometimes DD prefers to poop on the little potty because her feet are on the ground. [ Reply | More ]

we started w/ the Bjorn potty b/c we left it (don't snark, smaller nyc apt) in the living room when she first started training; then moved to the seat on toilet [ Reply | More ]

hey it's not gross! We live in a house, but toilet training twins is meaning I have the potty on this floor and then in the morning and at night they use the bathroom upstairs [ Reply | More ]

I think it depends on the child. My 3rd child hates being on the big potty - even with a stool. But has no prob going on the little potty. We are not in hard core training phase yet but when I do I will suck it up and deal with the little potty (didn't use it at all for dd #2) b/c I'd rather the whole process be less stressful.
