7mo db still isn't making consonant sounds... when did your db start doing that? he squeals, understands his name, and recognizes us. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

contrary to what you believe, infants start making consonant sounds like gaga, baba, dada around 6 month of age. if yours isn't doing that before age 1, i'd be very, very worried. thanks for your input. [ Reply | More ]

I have a speech delayed 5yo. I have been through years of therapy with him. At 7mo, I would not be worried that my kid was not making consonant sounds. I would be worried if child never made a single sound beyond crying. I'd be worried if db had not rolled over by 7mo. Consonant sounds are not a worry at this age. [ Reply | More ]
