I find it interesting that on threads about private vs. public school, or even homeschooling vs. public school, practically everyone rallies to the defense of the American public education system as the best thing since sliced bread. But change the argument to American public schools vs. the rest of the world or just Europe (UB'ers love Europe) - and everyone shakes their head at the sad state of our schools.
