op:would it be a bad thing to not have them sent? Thing is I've been with old dr for 4 years and don't want to offend her. But want to see someone new because I sometimes feel that old gp doesn't always keep up with new developments. [ Reply | More

np: i suppose you could just ask them to release a copy to you. and then you could bring with you to new office. But i would provide new doc with records - especially immunizations, any health conditions, screenings you've had, etc. [ Reply | More

people change doctors all the time for a variety of reasons. I doubt old dr is so thin-skinned or that you were so cherished a patient [ Reply | More

you don't need to bring them, but the new doctor may ask for them. they'll just send a letter to the office. you don't need to ask personally [ Reply | More
