21 mo screams "no" every time our nanny shows up. normal? i'm not worried about abuse or anything, but it bums me out (and our nanny) that he is so upset. he's fine a few minutes after i leave. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

are you sure he is fine? who told you? the nanny. I am a firm believer that at 21mo you can not "like/get along with/connect" with someone. I am not suggesting that your nanny is doing any thing wrong, but it still may mean you need a new one. [ Reply | More ]

he's never sad to see her leave. but, today when i told her to bring a piece of chocolate in to bribe him, he happily said goodbye to me. [ Reply | More ]

if i go into another room, he's fine. i do hear them laughing and having fun and see them playing (i work at home). it is just really getting to me and i'm beginning to wonder if he might like someone else better. but, she's been with him since he was three days old. [ Reply | More ]

Well if he is laughing and having fun I would feel better. It is always tough when you are trying to weigh the familiar against a potentially better but still unknown situation. See if you can get some feed back from people on how the two of them interact when you are not around, like at the park or a play date. [ Reply | More ]
