i guess it's not so recent but here are my recollections from when i started each stage. i became a sahm after dc#3 and it was *hard*. possibly the hardest thing i've ever done in my life. but i adjusted relatively quickly and i loved it. then i went back to work (p/t) and that was *hard*. but it was the juggling that was hard, not the actual working or parenting. it took me much longer to adjust. now i'm getting ready to have the summer off and i'm really looking forward to it. just went back to work after dc#3 and its going as well as it can go. as far as work goes, it was like i never left. as far as the kids go, i really miss them, it was hard to go back to work this time. everyone is adjusting. the juggling is the hardest part, next to missing my kids of course.
