This is annonymous so please answer honestly: What sleeping pill do you use if any, how often do you take it (every night?) and are you worried about it? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Right well I'd say I'm addicted to that 5 mg. But my doc isn't concerned, I never need more than the 5 and it sure beats not sleeping! [ Reply | More ]

I take tylenol PM occasionally, mostly when traveling. It makes me feel druggy in the morning soemtimes, even if I take 1/2 so I rarely use it unless stressed out [ Reply | More ]

You wake up if your kid cries. You just fall asleep quicker after helping them. [ Reply | More ]

i take melatonin a couple times a month. it's natural, so not worried. [ Reply | More ]

you know that natural things can be toxic right? [ Reply | More ]

i also wouldnm't worry about melatonin but just being "natural" doesn't make it harmless. cancer cells are "natural" and "organic" too. [ Reply | More ]

ok, so anything you can tell me about melatonin being toxic? [ Reply | More ]

Melatonin is a hormone created by the body and in normal doses (as released by the boy) it is not toxic. In excessive doses it is in deed poisonous. It is not an FDA regulated product when sold as a suppliment, therefor no complete studies have been filed and no one knows how much is too much or what happens to melatonin users later on in life. so there's no way to know what a toxic level is...or are you saying any more than the body releases is a threat? [ Reply | More ]

np I think she is saying there aren;t many studies so you might want to be careful about it. She is right, natural does not mean harmless [ Reply | More ]

yes, i know. i said that because it's not addictive or chemical. and everyone jumps all over it. just feel like i'd rather take something natural than take something pharmaceutical. abuse is abuse, and i'm not abusing it. [ Reply | More ]

but I think her main point is the fact that it hasnt been studied enough. Natural things can still be bad for you and mess up your natural levels without you knowing it. From what I know, melatonin is probably fine esp in small doses, but you never know. And "natural" does not mean it doesn't have side effects or harmful effects that may or may not be known. Thats all [ Reply | More ]

Ambien or benadryl. Ambien never more than 2-3x/week and benadryl the rest of the time. Mild concerns, but also a much happier, better person with sleep. And benadryl is supposed to be really mild. [ Reply | More ]
